• How long does a typical physiotherapy session last ?
  Usually, a session last between 20 and 30 minutes.

 

• Will my insurance (assurance maladie) reimburse the cost of physiotherapy treatment ?
  Yes, provided you bring along a valid (less than 2 months) physiotherapy prescription from your doctor.
  Attention ! Without valid medical prescription, you will not be reimbursed by your medical insurance (according to Swiss LAMAL rules). This does not necessarily apply to insurances outside of the LAMAL system (international insurances), please consult with them beforehand, as it may change from one company to the next (but usually physiotherapy is reimbursed to some extent).

 

• How are the bills processed ?
  Billing is done by a third party, the Caisse des Médecins (www.caisse-des-medecins.ch).

 

• Is billing the same when the accident insurance SUVA (www.suva.ch) or the invalidity AI is concerned  ?
  No, not exactly. In this situation, your medical insurance is not responsible for reimbursment, and costs wil be fully covered by SUVA or AI insurance with no co-payment on your part.
